Hemp Embassy Headlines Issue 601 Mar 8 2024

Good Morning Medicine Lovers!!!

Thanks for joining me for another edition of the Hemp Headlines.

Each week I aim to bring you you good content that’s been moderated just for you to save you the ads and all the rest 🙂

Going to throw a personal <3 out to a wonderful strain of Cannabis known as Gorilla Glue but also more commonly known now as GG4.

Its one the most popular breeds on the planet and is so distinctive in its own right, both in Cultivation and Aesthetics.

Gorilla Glue is an Indica and is great for relaxation and in many ways creativity, also bang on better than most pain relief you will see available on the shelf today.

The flavour profile can vary anywhere from fruity grape to a dirty diesel, often all in the same plant.

For most, it will probably have a drowsy effect but for many who enjoy this strain it keeps them calm, relaxed and able to cope with what’s being thrown at them. Thanks GG 😀

You can read more about GG and all the strains it is cultivated in on Leafly.

Cowboys put cannabis regime at risk

In 2018, two years after medicinal cannabis was legalised in Australia, it remained a medicine in the shadows: products were scarce, doctors weren’t interested and patients barely knew it was a treatment option.

In that year, just 2560 medicinal cannabis prescriptions were approved through the “B” pathway of the Special Access Scheme (SAS), the mechanism by which unapproved medicine is supplied in Australia.

That was then.
The story now is very different.

A Survey Of Cost, Access And Outcomes For Cannabinoid-based Medicinal Product Use By Australians With Endometriosis.

People with endometriosis use cannabis to manage their symptoms.

This study aimed to identify costs, modes of administration, product composition, and self-reported effectiveness for those accessing medicinal cannabis in Australia.

There were 192 survey responses analysed. Most (63.5%) used a ‘cannabis clinic’ doctor, incurring an initial consultation cost of $100–$200+ (10.2% Medicare bulk-billed) and median cannabinoid medicine costs of $300AUD per month.
