High Headliners!

Richard from the local community says it was the wettest Spring on record here and there’s no end in sight, the ground is saturated. Doesn’t seem to worry the blueberries, which keep fruiting and feeding us daily.

Interesting how different countries and cultures have been influenced and affected by the drug war. It was a few years ago now, a Lebanese taxi driver who drove us to the airport in Melbourne was excited to tell us how he and his friends had voted for Legalise Cannabis, he also told us about Captagon. Hezbollah had long taken over the Lebanese red hash fields, he said, but the real issue was the huge numbers of people addicted to Captagon. We’d never heard of it.

He told us that Syria and Lebanon were pumping out millions of little addictive amphetamine-like pills the soldiers loved and called “chemical courage”. Which is exactly what was discovered there last week. It seems like Captagon was Syria’s only export, and in fact, bankrolling Assad’s regime.

Then there’s the sixty year old Canadian carpenter who made the mistake of transiting through Dubai recently with his legal THC and CBD medicine. He got life in prison! I was very happy to see the remaining Bali 9 teenage smugglers come home this week after 19 years in jail in Indonesia. Also, equally horrified by News Limited dragging out Anna Woods ignorant, bitter and unforgiving parents, yet again, who wanted them to die in prison.

Here’s to everyone having a hempy, happy holiday period—blessed we are to be here in Australia. Love and peace.

PS: Great news! NSW to introduce pill testing after Victoria got the ball rolling recently.
