Hemp Embassy Headlines Issue 594 Jan 20 2024
Good Morning! Well looks like the weather is starting to set in, not too bad right now, some minor flooding and some pretty spectacular lightning shows. For the most part, everyone’s always ready for the wet. The news gave me a few surprises this week. There’s actually going to be a recognised TAFE course for growing Medicinal Cannabis!!! That’s huge in my book.TAFE, in my experience, has some of the strictest in-house policies on the planet. I was chatting recently with some friends about Colorado and the question was raised:what does it cost for licensing, etc?I had a little bit of pre-knowledge on this thanks to a pretty cool mate up north. It’s really quite inexpensive and easy to see why there are so many farmers in Colorado now.Maybe too loose? In Australia a Hemp licence is around the same cost dollar for dollar after all the red tape.Maybe it just works better here? I included a little section about Hemp vs Cbd oil from a fellow advocate stateside, Emily Kyle. With few exceptions she’s taught me everything there is to know about canna cooking for health. I get asked about this ALOT! so ill probably keep harping on about it, lulZ. Vaping in Australia is definitely under the microscope now.Nicotine Vapes are pretty much done for. The TGA attached huge fines in some instances.Unfortunately the wording in some of the new documentation is slightly watered down and could include any type of Vape if not issued by a healthcare professional…….. Yikes! In my opinion, that’s just more money filtering and it isn’t at all necessary, people deserve the option to shop around no different to what’s being asked for in legal cannabis… or any other industry for that matter. Last week, there was a survey by Superly Green, there was a bit of a mix-up with the links. I’ve reposted it this week with the correct link if you would like to participate. Take Care all, The Big Blue Marble is spinning on a weird axis right now. To keep it simple: CBD – cannabinol, is a plant-based compound found in the cannabis plant, similar to how a vitamin is found in a vegetable. Hemp – a term used to describe any kind of cannabis that contains less than 0.3% THC by weight. It is not a botanical term.If a product contains more than 0.3% THC, it remains illegal at a Federal level, regardless of how much CBD it contains. There are many different types of CBD oil, but most CBD oils on the market today contain less than 0.3% THC. Different products can vary in how much CBD they contain, and many have different concentration levels and ingredient lists.
