We’ve had almost a week of sunshine, and not too hot. Paradise revealed!

Nimbin’s HEMP Embassy has always been managed and run by volunteers and most of them are passionate about changing the cannabis laws for personal reasons. Often weed saved their life, or they see it like that.

 

Nimbin has`many alcoholics who now smoke pot instead. The Embassy volunteers include ex-alcoholics as well as ex-heroin and ex-meth addicts. I’ve long realised cannabis is the ‘drug’ to get off other drugs with.

So the research from America studying whether people with alcohol dependence can effectively use pot instead is no surprise. At the same time, THC drinks are opening up all over the place, and it’s only a matter of time before you can buy one at the pub, some are saying. Cannabis beverages do lack the immediate effect of grog but technology is working on fixing that!

Australia’s alcohol intake has been falling for younger people and no doubt is often replaced with weed. In America, “Cali Sober” is gaining popularity, and has become a buzzword around substance abuse and addiction recovery (that’s using cannabis only).

“A recent poll shows there are more US adults who use cannabis daily than those who drink alcohol that often!” Imagine the massive change for the planet and humanity if we shifted from grog being our popular cultural drug, toasted at every occasion. Love to see someone opening the Olympics by lighting a giant joint from the cauldron!
