Raining again here off ‘n’ on, with beautiful days that are not too hot.
The British are about as good at ending the war on cannabis as we are in Oz, but I like their research on weed preventing suicides. It’s a no brainer for me, and I know I’ve read stat’s on suicides falling after legalising weed in various American states.
As the man from NORML said, “Numerous studies find that medical cannabis significantly improves patients’ health related quality of life”. Salty (I think it was) explained Nimbin’s street scene as a free-range psych. clinic. There is terrific empathy here for suffering and we’ve learnt tolerance as Nimbin is full of childhood horror stories.
People aren’t potheads by chance, it’s pain relief—and mostly mental pain. Grief, anguish, rejection, shame, regret, self loathing… psychological stuff. It’s anti-inflammatory, on multiple levels, cannabis, so no wonder depression and anxiety sufferers love it—the two most common ailments doctors are trying to treat today!
Cannabis is gold for settling trauma and PTSD. It helps provide some detachment I find, and hence a chance to see more clearly and keep going. The stirred pond settles and you can see the bottom again.
